Abstract

This study aims to determine whether the use of cooperative learning model jigsaw IPS can improve learning outcomes, motivation to learn, and creativity of students in the fifth grade students of SD Negeri Prajuritan, District Kutoarjo, Purworejo in academic year 2015/2016. This study uses a Classroom Action Research) by following the procedure that was developed by Stephen Kemmis and Robin Mc. Taggart. This study was conducted in two cycles, each cycle includes planning activities (planning), action, observations, and reflection. Subjects in this study were students of class V Elementary School Prajuritan, District Kutoarjo, Purworejo academic year 2015/2016 totaling 32 students. Data collection techniques used are tests, questionnaires, observation and documentation. While the instrument used is the test. Data were analyzed using descriptive percentages. The results showed that the use of cooperative learning model jigsaw in social studies learning, to improve learning outcomes, motivation to learn, and creativity Elementary School fifth grade students Prajuritan, District Kutoarjo, Purworejo academic year 2015/2016. It is shown by an increase in the average value of student learning outcomes, ie from pre-cycle is 63.13 with the percentage of 46.88% completeness including low criteria. After the first cycle of action IPS student learning outcomes increased to 70.93 with the percentage of completeness was 62.5% including the criteria. Then after the second cycle of increased student learning outcomes IPS again with a 80.17 percentage reached 86.20% completeness including very high criteria. Student motivation on pre cycles that fall into the category of a minimum height of only 25% of students, the first cycle of students learning motivation in the category of a high minimum of 56,3 %, and the second cycle students learning motivation in the category of a high minimum of 87, 5% of students. The level of creativity of the students at the pre-cycle the number of students who fall into the category of creative only 9,37%, in the first cycle the number of students who fall into the category of creative amounted to 50%, and the second cycle the number of students who fall into the category of creative amounted to 81,25%.
