Abstract

This study aims to determine whether the use of quantum learning model can improve learning outcomes IPS and motivation to learn in fourth grade students of Elementary School Fourth Grade 1 Bayem, District Kutoarjo, Purworejo year in academic year 2015/2016. This study uses a Class Action Research (Classroom Action Research) by following the procedure that was developed by Stephen Kemmis and Robin Mc. Taggart. This study was conducted in two cycles, each cycle includes planning activities, action, observations, and reflection. Subjects in this study is the fourth grade students of Elementary School Fourth Grade 1 Bayem, District Kutoarjo, Purworejo Year Academic Year 2015/2016 which amounted to 19 students. Data collection techniques used are tests, questionnaires, observation, and documentation. While the instrument used is the test. The results showed that the use of quantum model of learning in social studies learning, to improve learning outcomes and learning motivation fourth grade students of Elementary School Fourth Grade 1 Bayem, District Kutoarjo, Purworejo year in academic year 2015/2016. It is shown by an increase in the average value of student learning outcomes, from the value prior to the action with 62.89 by 47.37% mastery learning, to 70.53 with mastery learning 63.15% in the first cycle and the average learning outcomes increased to 80.00 with mastery learning 84.21% in the second cycle.
