Abstract

Learning activity should be held in a funway.When talking about financial ratios, the first impressionmade by students are what an unfun and uninteresting topic is. As their lecturer, improving our skill in learning method especially to teach analyzing financial ratios is a must. The aim of this research is to measure the student’s efficiency in analyzing financial ratios using a modern method called Chernoff Schematic Face. Its a modern way to analyze than using a conventional method (percentage). This research involved 85 undergraduate students in Accounting Department of PGRI University of Yogyakarta. Respondent should answer a questionnaire prepared by researcher in the class and shouldwrite on total time needed for answering the question. The time recorded is use to compare between conventional method and Chernoff Schematic Face method. And then the comparison is needed for solving this research hypotheses that Chernoff Schematic Facemethodmay able to increase time’s efficiency in analyzing financial ratios than conventionalmethod. The result shows that there is a differentiation in time to analyze financial ratios between two of themethod stated above. Students have four seconds early incompletely analyzing financial ratiosusing Chernoff Schematic Face than using conventional method. Based on paired sample t-test, the significant value which is less than 0,005 also confirm the hypotheses that analyzing financial ratios using Chernoff Schematic Face method is more efficient than using a conventional method.
