Abstract

Face recognition system presents a challenging problem in the last three decades, and has received a great attention because of its many application includes an attendance system for person identification. The system will take an image sequence captured by a video camera, which mostly already exist. In this paper, we present a video-based face recognition attendance system that consists of three modules: one for detecting the faces, a second one for tracking them, and the third one for recognizing them. In this system, we will use feature extraction with gabor wavelet using magnitude of 2D Gabor’s representations of the face as a new representation. The performance of the proposed algorithm is tested on ten low resolution video using database that made up of 10 video inside them. The test results indicate that the face recognition system is achieve 81.33506% of accuracy while the picture taken indoor. Although the input system has a low resolution, but the facial recognition had good results to recognized nine persons at a time.
