Abstract
This study aims to improve the attitude of care for the environment, critical thinking skills and student learning outcomes in Social studies through scientific method.The research was conducted in SMP Negeri 3 Wonosari Gunungkidul district, Yogyakarta. This research is a class act. Data were collected through observation of action, giving attitudes questionnaire environmental care, critical thinking skills test and the test results of social studies as well as documentation and interviews. Analysis of the data used in this research is qualitative descriptive percentages. The results showed that, the application of scientific methods can improve students' attitudes environmental awareness of 53.13% to 90.63% , improve students' critical thinking skills of 28.13% to 87.50% and application of the scientific method can also improve learning outcomes in social studies students of 62.50% to 87.50%.
