Abstract

The research's objectives were to try out the poverty alleviation model based on gender perspective through economy secio cultur and environment approach in Sleman District, Yogyakarta Special Region, creating a poverty alleviation formula based on gender perspective as an alternative input povety alleviation model. Participation observation, docmentation, and depth interview were used to collet the data.Research subjects were officials in the work unit area of Sleman District Government (Planning Agency and Regional Development, Employment and Social Services, Family Planning Agency and Community Empowerment, Environmental Service), as well as section head of public welfare of Turi Distric, Donokerto Village Chief, Village Chief, community figures and the target groups of poverty alleviation programs. The result showed that through socio cultural approach, womwn's groups have awareness of them selves as whole human being and position in the culture, while empowerment through skills training that is adapted to the local potential can increase the motivation to establish productive economic activities. Through environmental awarness, the groups were able to develop food processed diversification made from local basis. It can be concluded that the poverty alleviation model based on gender perspective through economy socio cultural and environment approach can improve the people motivation, especially rural women in efforts to develop their potential to form local productive economic activities in order to form community independence, this model can be used as an alternative poverty alleviation programs. keywords: Poverty, Gender, Socio Cultural, Economy, Environment.
